TRANSGENDER NAVIGATOR SPECIALISTS
The mission of the trans navigator is to assist trans patients to navigate through appropriate agency programs and to our outside referral network, enhancing the overall patient experience.
The Borrego Health Transgender Navigator Specialist is a patient-centered service delivery intervention based on the goal of improving health outcomes, increasing provider- patient connectedness, and eliminating barriers to care that can occur across the care continuum for vulnerable trans populations.

What is a trans navigator?
A Trans Navigator may meet with you before each appointment to answer your questions, help you resolve insurance issues, provide you with resources, check on your care experience, and give general support for your gender journey.
You are welcome to reach out to a navigator at any time during your journey. They can be especially helpful with name and gender marker change paperwork. Borrego’s Trans Navigators also facilitate peer support groups across the region.
