BORREGO HEALTH ANNOUNCES THE ORGANIZATION'S RAMP UP STRATEGY TO INCREASE IN-CLINIC PATIENT VISITS
June 2, 2020 (San Diego, Calif.) Borrego Health has continuously kept the vast majority of its clinics open throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and is pleased to announce that it is now offering additional in-person visits with providers for low-risk patients. In addition, we will continue to provide expanded telehealth, teledentistry, and telephonic visits for appropriate clinical services or for vulnerable, at-risk patients. Borrego Health is further exploring adding other specialty appointments in the coming weeks.
Borrego Health continues to stay up-to-date with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and the local County Health Department guidelines, which include best practices for hygiene, infection control, and monitoring the health of clinic staff.
Patients should be aware of improved standards of safety and hygiene when they come to the clinics. Patients are encouraged to always call for an appointment. Prior to entering the facilities, both patients and staff will be screened for COVID-19-related symptoms, and the use of a mask or face cover will be required at all times.
Borrego Health will also ensure that lobby and patient rooms are safe and properly cleaned in order to limit exposure to the virus. Social distancing, including personal interaction, will be observed, by spacing chairs in waiting areas and limiting the number of patients inside a facility at any given time.
“Our clinics have fundamentally changed in light of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Mikia Wallis, CEO of Borrego Health, “but what remains unchanged is our tireless work advancing the Mission of Borrego Health, and our commitment to the communities we serve that we will be here for them long after the threat of COVID-19 has diminished. With our continued perseverance, I am confident in our path forward, and filled with nothing but hope,” Mikia concluded.
