BORREGO HEALTH'S I-CARE PROGRAM ENTERS THIRD YEAR
As part of Stonewall Medical Center in Cathedral City, Borrego Health offers the I-Care Program—an integrated, collaborative care program for gay and bisexual men age 50+ who are living with HIV/AIDS and struggling with methamphetamine (meth) use.
I-Care is a program that is supported through a grant from Gilead Sciences. The program is available via Telehealth for qualifying Borrego Health patients in Riverside, San Diego and San Bernardino counties.
The impact of meth on physical and mental health can be devastating. I-Care is a 6-month program that includes individual substance use disorder counseling and group-based meth use treatment. It emphasizes compassionate and culturally competent care to older gay and bisexual men. The program integrates medical and behavioral healthcare, social support, and substance use treatment.
Virtual group meetings are scheduled to begin January 19, March 16, May 11 and July 13 this year on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30pm to 4:00pm. If I-Care is not a good fit, our substance use counselor can provide information about our other harm reduction programming.
