In addition, she is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Coalition’s Marketing and Public Relations efforts, developing a cohesive message that showcases the Coalition’s successes and informs potential funders/ investors/ political leaders of the important work being down by CVHC.
Previously, Ms. Villagran served as the Single-Family Development Director for four years and as the Director of the Community Services Department for four years.
Affordable housing and the work performed by caring nonprofits is close to Ms. Villagrán’s heart, having been raised by hardworking Mexican immigrant parents who built their own home under the USDA-Rural Development Mutual Self Help Program in Southern Arizona, when she was seven years old.
“Watching my mom and dad, and strangers who would become my extended family, install the roof of our future home proved to me then that my parents were Super Heroes, and proves today that their self-less effort over the course of one year would change my life and that of my sisters. They set aside their aching backs and sore hands to come together with strangers to build a successful community. Who doesn’t get inspired by that?”
