Chief Medical Officer

After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia, Dr. Dauod Ghafari entered medical school at New York Medical College. After graduating, and following his main interest in primary care, Dr. Ghafari entered a residency in Family Practice. With several years of experience in private practice under his belt, Dr. Ghafari worked briefly in a community clinic in Central California, where he became passionate about community health.

Dr. Ghafari has been a physician with Borrego Health since 2011. During his years advancing excellent health care for the underserved populations, Dr. Ghafari became Medical Director for one of Borrego Health’s main clinics, Centro Medico El Cajon. With the help of providers, staff, and administration, he was able to improve clinic and organization workflows, productivity and quality.

As Borrego Health’s Chief Medical Officer since the beginning of 2018, Dr. Ghafari’s focus became refining the impact of efficiency and technology on health care delivery.
