Dear Borrego Health Patient,

Borrego Health continues offering in-person visits with your health care provider.

As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Borrego Health stays up-to-date with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and the local County Health Department guidelines, which include best practices for hygiene, infection control, and monitoring the health of clinic staff.

The health, safety and well-being of our patients and employees are our number one priority. Please be aware of the standards listed below that you should expect on your next visit.

Calling to Schedule an Appointment

A Customer Service Representative will work with you to determine which type of appointment is best suited for you. You may continue using telehealth for some types of medical services.

Clinic Access

Before entering our clinics, we will screen both patients and employees for symptoms of COVID-19. This will include measuring body temperatures and asking some basic health questions. A mask or face cover is required for patients and staff at all times. (If you do not have a mask or face cover, we will provide one for you during your visit.)

Lobbies and Clinical Areas

Social distancing includes limiting personal interaction and keeping a safe area around individuals to limit exposure. Borrego Health has reconfigured our seating areas to leave sufficient distance between chairs. We are also limiting the number of patients inside a facility at any given time. Only patients will be allowed in the lobby, with exception of one caregiver or one parent when necessary.

We have increased the level of disinfecting and cleaning activities throughout the day, especially in our lobby, exam rooms, and restrooms. All items used by patients during their visit will be disinfected immediately after use, and all magazines and toys have been removed from our lobbies. To protect our healthy patient population, patients that present with COVID-19 symptoms will be taken directly to a designated area.

Provider Visits

Only one staff member at a time will enter the exam room. Please know that exam rooms and all items used during the exam will be thoroughly disinfected after use. Additionally, our staff will be wearing all appropriate personal protective equipment during the visit.

Consider Telehealth Options

Telehealth, telephonic, and teledentistry consultations are very effective for certain types of visits. Many of these services allow you to connect with your provider from the safety and comfort of your home. We encourage you to choose telehealth visits when appropriate. For a comprehensive list of services that we can provide through remote access, please visit our telehealth page here.

Dentistry or Other Specialty Services

Any additional health and safety requirements for dentistry or specialty services will be discussed prior to your arrival. If you have any questions or concerns, please call your clinic before you come in.

COVID-19 Testing
