Blake Wylie, DO practices Osteopathic Family Medicine in a rural clinic located in Julian, CA, where he grew up as a child. He attended various colleges throughout southern California eventually graduating from UCSDs 1st College, Revelle, in 1999. He worked as an engineer in the water purification field during the five post-graduate years while studying for medical school. Dr. Wylie was accepted into and graduated with various honors from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008. Directly thereafter, Dr. Wylie attended Downey Regional Medical Center Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency program, graduated in August 2011, and obtained board certification from the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners in October, 2011. He has been practicing Osteopathic Family Medicine primarily in Julian since that time working as an employee with Borrego Community Health Foundation, the entity that operates the clinic in Julian. Dr. Wylie also holds an administrative title of Medical Director for Contract Clinics at Borrego Health. In addition to that, Dr. Wylie is assisting Borrego Health in transitioning to an outpatient academic medical center.
Dr. Wylie is affiliated with various professional organizations and has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors and Committee Chairperson of the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California. He has been selected as a California state delegate to the American Osteopathic Association National House of Delegates for 8 years – an honor that was initiated his internship year directly out of medical school. This entity is responsible for setting health policy for Osteopathic Physicians nationwide and consists of physician leadership throughout the country. Dr. Wylie’s goals remain consistent with the osteopathic pledge that he takes 4 times per year.
